Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the Perfilm app and its official website. It explains how local media playback, network connections and related features handle information. For privacy questions or requests concerning your personal information, use the Feedback and privacy requests page.

1. Local media and playback history

Perfilm reads media you import, select or authorize it to access, to play it, generate thumbnails and display file information. Media indexes, playback progress, watched status and preferences are stored in the app’s data on your device. Opening and playing local files does not require uploading them to the developer.

Content accessed, synchronized or backed up through system file providers, iCloud or device backups is also subject to those services and your system settings.

2. Network servers, cloud storage and online features

When you connect to a NAS, SMB or other server, sign in to cloud storage, open a network link or use online subtitles, the app communicates with the relevant service. Requests may include server addresses, authentication details or access tokens, requested file paths, subtitle search information and information needed for network communication, such as your IP address.

These communications are initiated by the features you choose. Servers and service providers handle the information they receive under their own rules. Perfilm does not route server or cloud storage sign-ins through a developer-operated account service. Credentials or authorization information stored on your device are managed by the relevant sign-in components and system storage mechanisms.

You can stop further access by signing out, removing saved connections or revoking authorization with the provider. Available services and features are those actually offered in the app.

3. Local network file transfer

Only after you turn it on manually does this feature start a file transfer service on the current network interface. Devices on the same local network that can reach the displayed address can upload or download the files provided by the app. The address uses HTTP; transfers are not encrypted with HTTPS. Enable it only on networks you trust and turn it off when it is no longer needed.

The switch is off on each cold launch. Leaving the transfer page or briefly moving to the background does not explicitly clear the current enabled state; background running time is limited by the system. Keep Perfilm in the foreground during transfers.

4. System permissions

You can manage these permissions in system Settings. Denying or revoking a permission may affect its related feature; it does not grant the app any other access you have not allowed.

5. Feedback and diagnostics

When you submit the feedback form, we receive the feedback text and any contact details you choose to provide. The system also records the product, submission time, request identifier and an IP-address verification value used to prevent abuse. Feedback is received by the system operated by Phoenix Studio and is accessible only to authorized administrators and staff. It is not displayed publicly, and the form does not accept attachments. Review your message before submitting it, and do not include passwords, verification codes or unrelated personal information.

Feedback is used to respond to issues, improve the app and handle privacy requests. It is not used for advertising profiles or sold. The feedback service uses Cloudflare for security and human verification; see the Feedback service privacy notice for details on data handling and retention. To request access to or deletion of information you submitted, use the Feedback and privacy requests page and provide valid contact details and enough information to locate the original submission. We will process requests after verification. It may not be possible to reliably identify the author of anonymous feedback.

6. Third-party components and external links

Perfilm uses open-source components such as VLC for media playback and uses network services and related SDKs for specific features. When you use cloud storage, subtitles, casting, payments or external web pages, the providers may process information needed to fulfill your request. Please consult their privacy notices. Local playback does not automatically send your media library to the developer.

External links in the app may open third-party websites. This policy does not replace those websites’ or services’ privacy policies.

7. Storage, deletion and sharing

You can manage local files, caches, the media library and settings through the app and system. Deleting files may also affect original content stored on your device; follow the confirmation shown for each action. Removing the app generally removes its local app data. Manage system backups, external folders, content shared with other apps and remote copies separately in their respective locations.

Sharing, casting or local network transfer provides the content you select to the relevant recipient. Check the receiving device and sharing scope before proceeding.

8. Official website

This website does not integrate advertising, analytics scripts, tracking pixels or third-party fonts, or set cookies for advertising tracking. When you visit, network and hosting services may process your IP address, request time and requested pages to serve the website and maintain security. Actual log retention depends on the hosting configuration.

9. Policy updates and contact

When features or information handling change, we will update this page and its update date. Changes requiring additional notice or consent will be handled appropriately.
